Studying French A-Level will give students the ability to advance their linguistic and communication skills and further insights into a range of social, artistic, cultural and political topics.

What will I study?

The course covers a variety of topics including the importance of family in French society, Francophone music, French cinema, French politics and current issues in immigration and integration of French society. For the literature part of the course we study the film, La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz and the book No et Moi by Delphine de Vigan. Students also undertake their own research project for the speaking exam based on any topic of their choice.

 

What can I do with A-Level French?

Learning French makes you a great communicator and listener and a reflective learner who can think on their feet. You could have the opportunity to work or study abroad or even start another language alongside French at university or law or history.
