Performing Arts Dance is a subject for people who have a passion and commitment to performance and explorative study through practice and analysis.

The Performing Arts gives an insight into the creative process through key practitioners of historical note and contemporary value. It is an area of study that is influenced by a range of contextual factors and allows for the exploration of creative intentions to be realised in performance. 

What will I study?

There are four parts to BTEC Performing Arts. You will study:

1. Unit 1: Investigating Practitioners (external written exam)
2. Unit 2: Developing Skills & Techniques for Live Performance (internal assessment)
3. Unit 3: Group Performance Workshop (external written and practical assessment)
4. Optional Unit: (internal assessment).

What can I do with a BTEC Performing Arts?

People who study performing arts, alongside other A Levels go on to a range of courses in the future, which includes Drama, Theatre, Dance and courses such as English. A Level 3 qualification in Performing Arts proves that you are able to perform in a range of performing arts disciplines, engage in critical analysis, and show an appreciation for the creative and performance process with a contextual understanding.
